SILVER COMEDY COURSES & WORKSHOPS
Silver Comedy works with organisations and groups to supply specialist training in comedy writing and/or performance for older people.
“This is a fun and pleasant occasion – they speak with all individuals, most of us were shy but they are so charming, made us feel utterly at ease”
Irene – Service User, Haringey
Who are the courses for?
The courses are for anyone wishing to gain or reawaken comedy skills, or who simply want to have fun watching, listening to, writing or analysing comedy. Intergenerational workshops are open to people of all ages.
Course content
The courses range in content from impro and stand up to sketch writing and nonsense writing. Brief course outlines of sample courses are available via the menu to the left. In addition to the courses currently listed we can also supply comedy prose and clowning courses.
We also design and deliver bespoke courses. For instance, for Capital Age Festival we recently designed a comedy podcast course.
Length of courses
The exact length, timing and frequency are agreed with the client. They are typically delivered as one or two day courses, running for example from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
It is also possible to do shorter morning or afternoon versions from, for example, 10am to 1pm or from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, either as one-offs or a sequence of sessions.
They generally run weekday daytimes, although some weekends are available. There is also the option to end the courses on a live performance or reading for an invited audience.
Location
The courses are run at a location that suits the client.
Cost
We are happy to consider your group's or organisation’s needs by agreeing a programme that can also be flexible enough to fit within a limited budget.
