OUR MISSION

Silver Comedy’s mission is:

 

* to create a variety of opportunities for older people to become actively involved in comedy

* to support the needs of older people by using comedy for educational or therapeutic purposes

 

* to increase intergeneratonal contact by enabling older people to have fun alongside other age

  groups

* to use comedy to consider issues that impact on the lives of older people

* to enable other organisations to use comedy to help counteract social isolation amongst older

   people

* to provide a training network to develop older people’s individual talent for comedy

 

"Capital Age Festival engaged Silver Comedy to work with ten older volunteer participants from across London to produce comedy sketch podcasts, recorded in front of a live audience at City Hall, London as part of Capital Age Festival: The Winter Gathering 2010.  This was a highly successful project and the performance received rapturous applause from a very enthusiastic audience.

The quality of training was outstanding and extremely professional. We therefore had no hesitation in re-engaging Silver Comedy to undertake further work for our annual summer event along the south bank of the Thames river."
